work in several areas. Here is the overview of our software developement.
 Document Management Systems
Dataflow's FormCap is a special purpose Document Management System. It is used for storing scanned paper documents (typically forms). These forms can be indexed in a very flexible way and are stored on a central server. These can be searched on multiple fields and retrieved easily. The access to the scanned JPGs and PDFs is given to users in a controlled manner. The system is designed to handle hundreds of thousands of documents using moderate hardware and the typical access time is under 1 second.
Indian Languages: Packages and Fonts
The first one to introduce the Indian languages to computers in 1986, we have a wealth of software products in the DTP area. The DTP programs for various languages, viz English, Devanagari (Hindi - Marathi - Sanskrit), Gujarati, Oriya, Assamese, Bengali, Gurumukhi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Urdu represent the ability to introduce complex software products and distribute them throughout the country. The numerous fonts (typefaces) which exist in all these languages speak about the amount of efforts invested in the digitising technologies. Various software utilities exist for in-house use for the creation of these programs and the manipulation of fonts.

Newspaper Products
Newspapers represent a strong customer group for the DTP softwares. We have developed additional softwares to cater to their needs. These are industry specific generalised softwares, adaptable to many customers. The softwares cater to their Circulation needs, Advertisement Billing needs and do their Full Page Makeup. These DOS products are currently being converted to the Windows platform. Besides these, we offer hardware based products, such as the Teleprinter interface for English as well as Urdu.
Translators
We have products for the Software developers - among which the Cobol to C language converter is a prime product. This program addresses the need of software departments of corporates to upgrade their software to a modern language. The estimated existing code-base of COBOL programs runs into billions of lines (if not trillions), making this a long life product.

CNC Software
Yet another high technology area software made by us is the software for CNC machines. This is used for describing the complex tool-paths for a computerized engraving and milling machine. This is a versatile software for interfacing the 2d/3d CNC machines and utilises a number of different file formats for taking in the commands. An unique feature of this software is the use of turtle graphics to easily describe the complex paths to be carved on the machine.
General purpose Softwares
Besides these industry specific softwares, we have a number of softwares which are general purpose in nature. For example, the MathLook program shows the linear equations in 2 dimensions, using different fonts and colours. The Reporter package allows creation of any report from a mixture of text and reporting commands. We have software for Election data entry and software for the conversion of English names into Devanagari and vice versa. Knowledge base exists within the company to handle microprocessor based projects as well - including the development of schematics, printed circuit boards and the relevant software for the latest breed of microcontrollers.
